so much more than a rental property
For more than 50 years, the "Goddard Place" was the home of Bill and Janice Goddard. After their marriage in 1949, they settled together on this homestead north of Morland, Kansas to begin a life of farming and cattle ranching, raising four children along the way. Their lives were marked with a dedication not only to church, marriage and family, but also to the community at large. Long after their own children were grown, they continued to offer leadership and assistance to local youth, and took great pleasure in watching the many accomplishments of these young people.
Over the years, Bill and Janice's home was a place of refuge for many...a place where no one entered unwelcomed or left hungry, where lessons were taught, love was shared, and everyone was treated like a member of the family. Now that they are no longer with us, we have carefully considered what might become of their family home -- this special place that brought us all so much peace and healing at different times in our lives. Many of us now work with young people on a daily basis, and we are painfully aware of the overwhelming challenges they face. A staggering number of kids today are lost, hurting and struggling and have no sense of belonging or value. They are important to us, and we have a place where they belong. We are proud to carry on Bill and Janice's loving legacy by once again opening the doors of the Goddard Place to kids and families in need.
